Following on from my previous post about the dwindling population in Burnley I thought a few images and 'videos' of Burnley 'past and present' would be nice. So here's what I've managed to collect and put em all on one PAGE for your perusal.
Video (above): The Burnley Express's Kelvin Stuttard has been out and about around the
town centre, filming our town for posterity ... and seeing how the
landscape has changed since 1988 when our archive footage was taken.
The
soundtrack "Never Leave Home" has been provided by Burnley band Ring
Ring Rouge - it's the lead track off their soon-to-be released EP The
Red Telephone (Jack to Phono Records).
The extended version (Above) of 'Life in a northern town' by The Dream Academy
with photos of the town of Burnley. Felixstowe Salvation Army Band
playing at the mall in Burnley 1975 used with the kind permission of The
Salvation Army, Felixstowe. Modern development in burnley. copywright Chris Tomlinson. Burnley and pendle 251. copywright Ian Roberts. Burnley railway street. copywright Dr Neil Clifton.
